I loveee this recipe to fulfill my hummus cravings. After I learned how to make hummus by myself, I have vowed never to buy store bought hummus ever again! It is even better homemade, AND you get to control the ingredients. Plus, it is so cheap to make, and lasts at least a week and a half in your fridge.
1 can of garbanzo beans
juice from half of a lemon
3 Tbspof Tahini
1.5 Tbsp olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend till smooth. Top with extra oil (this is to keep it from getting dry) and hot pepper flakes. Dip with fresh veggies or pretzel chips. THAT’S IT!
My favorite variation of hummus is to add sun dried tomatoes (substitute the olive oil with the oil from sun dried tomato can).
